Music and Me
Hi guys, My name is Alyssa, and here are a few things about me; I am 19 years old and from Spartanburg S.C. I graduated from Dorman High School in 2024 and I'm currently a Freshman at Converse University. I adore animals and I have a pet cat named Pumpkin. I love driving and working on cars, I own a modified G35, and my dream cars are; an R34, R35, and a BRZ. I also like to dance, my favorite kind of dance is lyrical.
My music journey started in elementary school, when I was in 5th grade I played the violin for my school. However, once I entered middle school, 6th grade, I dropped the violin and switched to performing in the chorus. I was a member of my school choir from grades 6th to 10th. After 10th grade, I stopped getting involved in music during school and my music experience involved personal activities. However, once I became a senior in high school I joined my high school marching and indoor color guard. This involved dancing, spinning flags, and weapons to music. Now, I'm a freshman in college on the dance team, where we dance to different songs.
Anyway, this is me and my musical journey.
1. My current go-to song is "Cry for Me" by The Weeknd. I'm not really sure why this is currently the song I always turn on when I go onto Spotify other than the fact that I'm a small fan of The Weeknd and this is one of his songs from his newest album. I really like the feel of this song along with the lyrics.
2. A song that is meaningful to me is "Wildflower" by Billie Eilish. This song is particularly important to me because she sings similarly about one of the most devasting moments that happened in my life recently. I really like her vocals and how she hits and holds every long note. I adore how she connects with her music. I also admire how she wrote and sang this song herself. She really gives her heart into this song, and the whole album itself. The phrase "Did I cross the line?" as she sings near the end of her song, really stands out to me for several different reasons.
3. A song I don't really connect with is "Espresso" by Sabrina Carpenter. Sabrina is an amazing singer and dancer. She is stunning and worked hard for all of her accomplishments. This song is really catchy, however, I am personally not a fan of it. I don't match the vibes that this music portrays. This song is really popular but I personally cannot seem to understand why.
Thank you all.
